Full course description
This Advanced Grazing Systems for Small Ruminants Sub-course focuses on grazing management for sheep and goats. Building on the concepts presented in the original Advanced Grazing Systems course, this course aims to help producers gain an understanding of the unique challenges and solutions to grazing small ruminant species, as well as alternative grazing opportunities which may be available to them.
This course will explore ways to improve stock management, address grazing considerations specific to small ruminants, and review examples of how producers across the country are applying these practices. The information provided in this course provides producers with ideas and tools to help them apply these grazing principles in their own operations.
This course was developed by the Canadian Forage and Grassland Association (CFGA), with support and funding provided as part of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF).
Before starting this sub-course, you should complete the general Advanced Grazing Systems (AGS) Course. The Small Ruminants Sub-course builds on this course and addresses common questions and concerns expressed by small ruminant producers.
